I absolutely love food and cooking! One of my life’s biggest hobbies is learning about and cooking nutritious food. When I was 19 years old I was diagnosed with high blood pressure which forced me to maintain a low-sodium diet. My parents gave me cooking lessons when I moved into my first apartment at age 20. I loved cooking because it was the first thing I did that gave me immediate gratification... cook it and eat it. Unlike swimming or school where you take small steps and set small goals to reach big dreams.
I have built my knowledge about food and nutrition continuously over the years, which led me to co-found AthleticFoodie™, a company dedicated to helping other live healthy, fulfilling lifestyles while enjoying great food. The techniques and philosophy that formed the foundation for AthleticFoodie™, made a huge impact on my performance in and out of the pool, and I love to share my story.
Eating healthy is easier than people think. Let me come share my cooking and nutrition knowledge with you, and talk to your guests about the importance of eating healthy.
I have hosted fine-dining dinners that combine wonderful foods inspired by low-sodium recipes. During these dinners I tell the guests my story of the US Olympic Trials, the Beijing Olympics, the extraordinary 400 Freestyle Relay and explain to them how eating right and working hard were the keys to my success. The event concludes with a Q&A session that allows the audience to ask questions and discuss their ideas with me. I will show my two gold medals and explain their origin and design.
Let me help make your next food event, culinary demonstration, nutrition seminar banquet or fundraiser one of Olympic proportion that also ties in the importance of eating right!
